Четвёртая хроника царств

Глава 1

1 После смерти Ахава Моав взбунтовался против Исраила.

2 Царь Охозия же упал через решётку своей верхней комнаты в Самарии и покалечился. Он отправил посланцев, сказав им: – Идите и спросите Баал-Зевува, . бога филистимского города Экрона: оправлюсь ли я от этих увечий?

3 Но Ангел Вечного сказал Ильясу из Тишбы: – Пойди навстречу посланцам царя Самарии и спроси их: «Разве в Исраиле нет Бога, что вы идёте спрашивать Баал-Зевува, бога Экрона?»

4 Итак, вот что говорит Вечный: «Ты не встанешь с постели, на которую лёг. Ты непременно умрёшь!»И Ильяс пошёл.

5 Посланцы же вернулись к царю, и он спросил их: – Почему вы вернулись?

6 – Нам навстречу вышел некий человек, – ответили они. – Он сказал нам: «Возвращайтесь к царю, который вас послал, и скажите ему: „Так говорит Вечный: Разве в Исраиле нет Бога, что ты посылаешь людей спрашивать Баал-Зевува, бога Экрона? Итак, ты не встанешь с постели, на которую лёг. Ты непременно умрёшь!“»

7 Царь спросил их: – Как выглядел тот человек, который вышел вам навстречу и сказал это?

8 Они ответили: – Он был одет в шкуры, с кожаным поясом на бёдрах. Царь сказал: – Это Ильяс из Тишбы.

9 И он послал к Ильясу командира с его пятьюдесятью воинами. Тот поднялся к Ильясу, который сидел на вершине холма, и сказал ему: – Пророк, царь говорит: «Спустись!»

10 Но Ильяс ответил ему: – Если я пророк, пусть огонь сойдёт с неба и пожрёт тебя и твоих людей! И огонь, сойдя с неба, пожрал его и пятьдесят его воинов.

11 Тогда царь послал к Ильясу другого пятидесятника с его людьми. Тот сказал Ильясу: – Пророк, так говорит царь: «Немедленно спустись!»

12 – Если я пророк, – ответил Ильяс, – пусть огонь сойдёт с неба и пожрёт тебя и твоих людей! И огонь Всевышнего, сойдя с неба, пожрал его и пятьдесят его воинов.

13 Тогда царь послал третьего пятидесятника с его людьми. Этот командир поднялся и пал на колени перед Ильясом. – Пророк, – взмолился он, – прошу, пощади мою жизнь и жизнь этих пятидесяти воинов, твоих рабов!

14 Ведь огонь, сошедший с небес, пожрал двух первых пятидесятников и их воинов. Но пощади мою жизнь и жизнь моих людей!

15 Ангел Вечного сказал Ильясу: – Спустись с ним, не бойся его. Тогда Ильяс встал и спустился с ним к царю.

16 Он сказал царю: – Так говорит Вечный: «Разве в Исраиле нет Бога, чтобы спрашивать Его? Ты отправлял посланцев спрашивать Баал-Зевува, бога Экрона! За это ты не встанешь с постели, на которую лёг. Ты непременно умрёшь!»

17 И он умер, по слову Вечного, которое произнёс Ильяс. Так как у Охозии не было сына, вместо него на втором году правления иудейского царя Иорама, сына Иосафата, воцарился его брат Иорам.

18 Прочие события царствования Охозии и то, что он сделал, записано в «Книге летописей царей Исраила».

2 Kings

Chapter 1

1 THEN Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.

2 And Ahaziah fell down from the balcony of his upper chamber in Samaria, and was injured; so he sent messengers and said to them, Go, inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover from this injury.

3 But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron?

4 Now therefore thus says the LORD: You shall not come down from the bed on which you are lying, but you shall surely die. And Elijah departed.

5 And when the messengers returned to Ahaziah, he said to them, Why have you turned back?

6 And they said to him, A man came up to meet us and said to us, Go, turn again to the man who sent you and say to him, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron? Therefore thus says the LORD: You shall not come down from the bed on which you are lying, but you shall surely die.

7 And he said to them, What manner of man was he who came up to meet you and told you these words?

8 And they answered him, He was a hairy man and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said to them, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

9 Then he sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him; and he was sitting on top of a mountain. And he said to him, O prophet of God, the king says, Come down.

10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I am a prophet of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty. And there came down fire from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

11 Again he sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he spoke to him, saying, O prophet of God, thus says the king, Come down quickly.

12 And Elijah answered and said to him, If I am a prophet of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

13 And he sent again to him the third time a captain of fifty with his fifty. And the captain of fifty went up and fell on his knees before Elijah and besought him and said to him, O prophet of God, let my life and the lives of these fifty servants of yours who are standing before you be precious in your sight.

14 For behold, there came fire down from heaven and consumed the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties; therefore let now my life be precious in your sight.

15 And the angel of the LORD said to Elijah, Go down with him; be not afraid of him. And he arose and went down with him to the king.

16 And he said to him, Thus says the LORD: Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire for his word? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed on which you are lying, but you shall surely die.

17 So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And Joram, his brother, reigned in his stead in the second year of Joram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, because he had no son.

18 Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah and all which he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

3 Но Ангел Вечного сказал Ильясу из Тишбы: – Пойди навстречу посланцам царя Самарии и спроси их: «Разве в Исраиле нет Бога, что вы идёте спрашивать Баал-Зевува, бога Экрона?»

3 But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron?

4 Итак, вот что говорит Вечный: «Ты не встанешь с постели, на которую лёг. Ты непременно умрёшь!»И Ильяс пошёл.

4 Now therefore thus says the LORD: You shall not come down from the bed on which you are lying, but you shall surely die. And Elijah departed.

5 Посланцы же вернулись к царю, и он спросил их: – Почему вы вернулись?

5 And when the messengers returned to Ahaziah, he said to them, Why have you turned back?

6 – Нам навстречу вышел некий человек, – ответили они. – Он сказал нам: «Возвращайтесь к царю, который вас послал, и скажите ему: „Так говорит Вечный: Разве в Исраиле нет Бога, что ты посылаешь людей спрашивать Баал-Зевува, бога Экрона? Итак, ты не встанешь с постели, на которую лёг. Ты непременно умрёшь!“»

6 And they said to him, A man came up to meet us and said to us, Go, turn again to the man who sent you and say to him, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron? Therefore thus says the LORD: You shall not come down from the bed on which you are lying, but you shall surely die.

7 Царь спросил их: – Как выглядел тот человек, который вышел вам навстречу и сказал это?

7 And he said to them, What manner of man was he who came up to meet you and told you these words?

8 Они ответили: – Он был одет в шкуры, с кожаным поясом на бёдрах. Царь сказал: – Это Ильяс из Тишбы.

10 Но Ильяс ответил ему: – Если я пророк, пусть огонь сойдёт с неба и пожрёт тебя и твоих людей! И огонь, сойдя с неба, пожрал его и пятьдесят его воинов.

10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I am a prophet of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty. And there came down fire from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

11 Тогда царь послал к Ильясу другого пятидесятника с его людьми. Тот сказал Ильясу: – Пророк, так говорит царь: «Немедленно спустись!»

11 Again he sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he spoke to him, saying, O prophet of God, thus says the king, Come down quickly.

12 – Если я пророк, – ответил Ильяс, – пусть огонь сойдёт с неба и пожрёт тебя и твоих людей! И огонь Всевышнего, сойдя с неба, пожрал его и пятьдесят его воинов.

12 And Elijah answered and said to him, If I am a prophet of God, then let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.

13 Тогда царь послал третьего пятидесятника с его людьми. Этот командир поднялся и пал на колени перед Ильясом. – Пророк, – взмолился он, – прошу, пощади мою жизнь и жизнь этих пятидесяти воинов, твоих рабов!

13 And he sent again to him the third time a captain of fifty with his fifty. And the captain of fifty went up and fell on his knees before Elijah and besought him and said to him, O prophet of God, let my life and the lives of these fifty servants of yours who are standing before you be precious in your sight.

14 Ведь огонь, сошедший с небес, пожрал двух первых пятидесятников и их воинов. Но пощади мою жизнь и жизнь моих людей!

14 For behold, there came fire down from heaven and consumed the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties; therefore let now my life be precious in your sight.

15 Ангел Вечного сказал Ильясу: – Спустись с ним, не бойся его. Тогда Ильяс встал и спустился с ним к царю.

15 And the angel of the LORD said to Elijah, Go down with him; be not afraid of him. And he arose and went down with him to the king.

16 Он сказал царю: – Так говорит Вечный: «Разве в Исраиле нет Бога, чтобы спрашивать Его? Ты отправлял посланцев спрашивать Баал-Зевува, бога Экрона! За это ты не встанешь с постели, на которую лёг. Ты непременно умрёшь!»

16 And he said to him, Thus says the LORD: Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire for his word? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed on which you are lying, but you shall surely die.

17 И он умер, по слову Вечного, которое произнёс Ильяс. Так как у Охозии не было сына, вместо него на втором году правления иудейского царя Иорама, сына Иосафата, воцарился его брат Иорам.

17 So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. And Joram, his brother, reigned in his stead in the second year of Joram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, because he had no son.

18 Прочие события царствования Охозии и то, что он сделал, записано в «Книге летописей царей Исраила».

18 Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah and all which he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
